Special Forces Military Unit Study

DFND partnered with a Special Forces Training Command to help study the effects of DFND compression gear on soldiers as the US Military tries to fight an all-time high of un-deployable rates due to Medical Musculoskeletal Encounters. A few of the measured and recorded results were:

95%

95% of the soldiers reported a reduced soreness in the quadriceps and hamstrings while wearing the Active Ax Compression Short during daily training.*

96%

96% of the soldiers reported reduced in shoulder and back pain during training while wearing the Hybrid Ax/Rx Short Sleeve Compression Shirt.*

98%

98% of the soldiers reported reduced calf soreness and cramping issues during training while wearing the Hybrid Ax/Rx Compression Socks.*

98%

98% of the soldiers reported a reduction in swelling and soreness the following day after wearing Recover Rx Compression Tight during Recovery phase.*

Identifying Relationships Between Compression Garments and Recovery in a Military Training Environment

“The results of our study are consistent with a recent meta-analysis that reported that CG use can benefit recovery following strength training or eccentric exercise, and a randomized controlled crossover study reporting significant positive effects of compression tights following resistance training (Brown et al, 2017; Heathen et al, 2019). Our study findings align with another in a military setting investigating the chronic effects of CG use during a 6-week military training course, which reported findings of moderate benefits to muscle soreness and small physical performance.” (Edgar et al, 2022).

“When doing any activity that impacted my legs I was able to put more effort in my workout. I can for sure say it helps reduce muscle tightness and soreness. I usually have muscle soreness last for about a week sometimes a little longer. When wearing the gear the muscle tightness or soreness was maybe 1 or 2 days.”
